“At Jeevan Shri Hospital, we specialize in laparoscopic gallbladder surgery, a minimally invasive approach for gallbladder removal. Our skilled surgical team utilizes advanced laparoscopic techniques, resulting in smaller incisions, reduced postoperative discomfort, and faster recovery times. With a focus on patient well-being, our comprehensive services ensure a seamless experience for those undergoing laparoscopic gallbladder surgery at our facility.”

Procedure Overview:

  1. Small Incisions: Instead of a large incision, several small incisions are made in the abdomen.
  2. Trocar Insertion: Trocars (hollow tubes) are inserted through the incisions, allowing access for a camera and surgical instruments.
  3. Carbon Dioxide Insufflation: The abdomen is inflated with carbon dioxide to create space for the surgeon to work.
  4. Visualization: A laparoscope (camera) is inserted through one of the trocars, providing a clear view of the gallbladder and surrounding structures on a monitor.

Gallbladder Removal:

  1. Dissection: The surgeon carefully dissects the gallbladder from its attachments to the liver and bile duct.
  2. Clipping and Cutting: The cystic duct and artery are clipped and cut, isolating the gallbladder.
  3. Extraction: The detached gallbladder is then extracted through one of the small incisions.

Advantages of Laparoscopic Cholecystectomy:

  1. Minimally Invasive: Smaller incisions result in less scarring and a quicker recovery.
  2. Reduced Pain: Patients often experience less postoperative pain compared to traditional open surgery.
  3. Shorter Hospital Stay: Most patients can go home on the same day or the day after the surgery.
  4. Faster Recovery: Return to normal activities is generally faster compared to open surgery.

Indications:

  1. Gallstones: The most common reason for gallbladder removal is the presence of gallstones.
  2. Gallbladder Disease: Inflammation, infection, or other conditions affecting the gallbladder.

Postoperative Care:

  1. Pain Management: Pain relief medications are prescribed as needed.
  2. Dietary Changes: Gradual reintroduction of a normal diet is advised.
  3. Activity: Patients are encouraged to gradually resume normal activities.
